A closer look
This project documents the preservation of Beirut’s built heritage while laying the groundwork for future initiatives to revive traditional Lebanese craftsmanship.
ACE conducts interviews with individuals who received the organisation’s support for the rehabilitation of doors, windows, and wrought iron, as well as with the artisans who collaborated on that work. These accounts feed into a draft booklet that highlights Beirut’s forgotten heritage and preserves the knowledge behind it.
Building on this foundation, ACE is preparing a project proposal with ALIPH to establish a workshop dedicated to reviving traditional Lebanese art. The goal is to ensure the continuity of woodwork and wrought-iron crafts by passing these skills on to a new generation.
