A closer look

ACE promotes the management and valorisation of solid waste through practical, community-based action. In partnership with Association Chabbat Aley, the organisation provided recycling bins and ran awareness-raising activities at public events, encouraging people to sort at source and recycle the different components of their solid waste.

To make sorting easy, ACE set up dedicated spots and supplied containers for the separate collection of waste. Alongside this infrastructure, the team delivered awareness sessions on waste separation, recycling, and composting, supported by flyers and other communication material.

ACE also worked closely with the municipality to organise waste collection and ensure that sorted recyclables reached the right destination — sold on to recyclers at the Zahle solid-waste facility — closing the loop between households and reuse.
