This action aims to support sustainable development by studying, documenting, and raising awareness about the geological and cultural significance of three heritage geosites in Lebanon.

Objective of the Action:

• Study the geological and geomorphological aspects of the sites through mapping, photo-interpretation, and GIS analysis

• Assess the impact of human activities on the sites such as environmental degradation and urban expansion using a diachronic approach of various documents such as maps and aerial photographs

• Conduct surveys to understand how concerned populations such as inhabitants and tourists perceive these sites

Key Outcome:

• Strengthened contribution of geo-conservation to the sustainable development of the targeted regions
